Cave Game
A recreation of Cave Game, the earliest version of Minecraft.
Features
- Stone and grass nodes.
- Place & destroy them.
- That's about it.
Notes
Whilst looking like cobble, stone is infact minecraft:stone.
Block's ID are aliased to their "modern" Minecraft name.
Select mapgen singlenode for a truly flat world.
Mapgen v6 unsupported.
If you want Cave Game's flipped mouse buttons,
change the following in your minetest.conf:
keymap_dig = KEY_RBUTTON
keymap_place = KEY_LBUTTON

Fun one minute distraction
While it's certainly not a game with much (or any) gameplay it still does what it says on the tin - be a somewhat accurate recreation of Cave Game. The textures look nice although I might be a bit biased. :P
Continuing in the same vein I'd like to see a RubyDung/RubyRevived-esque game on Minetest which would take the game down a completely different path than Minecraft ended up becoming.

I tried to mod it for kicks, don't
It is unique I guess. It is 100% moddable, but the inventory does not agree with mods at all. It will randomly select some nodes from the installed mod(s) and the first two are always the normal grass and stone blocks. The rest will be whatever it felt like grabbing on launch. It is definitely playable, but so simple I doubt I'll do much with it.
