Pretty much a must have, if you live by the sea (like me)
This fishing boat is great, but not just for fishing.
It can store a lot of items (Inventory size is 5x10), making it easy to wander around and collect a lot of items.
Speaking of easy, it's not difficult at all to get this going to speeds comparable to the motorboat by APercy, even while being that big.
It also has a realistic feel, with bouyancy (or whatever it's called, bouncing on the water) and realistic movement (also similarly to the motorboat).
You can choose to control it and not only notice the wooden wheel (or whatever) actually moving, but also a few items appearing on your HUD, like the throttle with... A snail and a turtle!
And of course, you can walk around on it and even go with a few friends.
If you go too crazy on it, then don't worry if it breaks slightly, because it's easily repearable with just several steel ingots (which you probably have tons of already after going mining enough to get a mese block for crafting).
In conclusion, I think it's really great for quickly wandering around the sea, which is even possible with many friends.
Though, if you only want to casually go speeding to places without worrying about inventory space or more than 1 friend, then I recommend the motorboat instead, and especially when you're on shallow waters (the fishing one is big) or if you are just starting out (I think it can't break?). However, this fishing boat will probably be able to amaze you too.
After using ordinary boats, this is a breath of fresh air
Note: I'm not a shipsandboatsorwaterverman, so I'm also not sure if this mod is super realistic and designed as an actual ship simulator (and I'm not triggered by it not being super realistic, if it really isn't).
The motorboat from this mod is just awesome.
Of course, it can go decently fast, using biofuel which is always easy to obtain (if confused on how to put some into it, then take the seat and punch the boat with biofuel).
Though, it also makes you truly feel like a captain, featuring realisticly slow turning/movement/acceleration and floating/slightly bouncing (or whatever you would call it) on the water.
It also gives slight attention to detail, like the engine motor thing rotating (you can even look backwards to see how much you've rotated it).
Literally my only complaint, which is minor, is that when you right click on the boat to get off, you don't get put on top of it, but instead, into the water.
Anyways, I see why this mod wasn't updated for like 2 years (as of may 30th 2024). It's because it's still great!
I highly reccomend this as a alternate to Minecraft if you want a very close replica.
Despite some missing features I would like (like creepers{I refuse to call them stalkers} dropping disks, and fishing giving treasure, especially with enchantments) this is a very good replica featuring alot of the features Minecraft contains, and has the core mechanics. For anybody wanting to know if they'd like Minecraft, or want a free alternative, this is great. My only gripes are mainly things like fishing not giving other items, fishing rods not pulling mobs nor having a string, but mainly the mob AI. The goddamn mobs all walk extrememly oddly, and if you have a bunch of livestock in a fence, they all walk into the same directions, slowly walking into each wall, which kills all the children becuase they grow up and glitch into a wall. I've also noticed iron golems spend most of their life in a river if the village is near one.
It seems pretty awesome at first, the animals seem cool with nice animations, you get great items like fried eggs.
But when I was playing this game on my singleplayer and went into a cave, suddenly everything became unresponsive. Guess what? It was this mod consuming HUGE amounts of memory in seconds, usage went from about 1 GB to 15!
There's no way I can play this with such a disasterous bug!
Note: This may seem like a bug report, but I don't wanna go create an account on the propietary, microsoft controlled github, and someone already reported it.
A very interesting idea and aesthetic approach. I would consider it for a horror, story telling and/or noir kind of game. Not using it for a regular, yet harder, survival game for that extra challenge though... Anyways great asset.
Really cool mod. This is the translation for spanish:

This is a GOOD mod! a definitive recommend! ...a mod like this should be added to the main minetest game by default... the screwdriver would no longer be the only tool of it's kind that does something! ... although. . call me picky, but any chance you could maybe add support for the worm farm mod? it's not exactly a well liked mod on account of the lack of fishing mods out there... except one. the one from ethereal(I use this alongside the worm farm). I was able to add in a bunch of costumely made chest nodes made by me manually with ease, but was having a hard time with the worm farm. there were some similar nodes kinda like it like the furnace, but I was still having a bit of issues figuring it out. would be nice if you looked into it. also... what was the deal with not having the normal, unlocked big chest's from connected chest's not fully configured? the LOCKED ones were.. but not the normal ones. I was able to easily do this myself, none of the less, it WAS weird though. . .
I don't want spoile anything but you have to atleast try it!!!
you'll play it for a some time and then rage-quit
but after you get the basic recipies it will become one of the best voxel games
and there's no danger nor day cycle just you and you imagination!!!
...even though it's a bit tedious to craft the glasses of water because you always have to switch out the unstackable bucket of water in the crafting grid. I'd rather place my claycrafter next to water or something.
Clay is way too rare if you build with bricks, clay, baked clay or similar. Natural resources will be depleted quickly. This mod offers a solution.
Like an outdated and premodded fork of MTG with texture pack
Anyone who knows how to install mods should install mods for MTG instead or play Mineclone2/Mineclonia. Much of the code of this game (Mineclone too btw) is just copy paste from MTG.
The crafting system is different but doesn't justify its own game.
Trying to make my mod compatible with it, I noticed that rp_player copy paste of player_api from MTG was even more outdated and fucked up than Mineclone's and gave up.
Skin color selection is from yellow to brown, so I'm allowed to play any ethnicity except my own.
It's bloated: adds about 14 pages of items to the creative menu as opposed to 5 with Farming Redo. Texture count is similar though but a little higher (547 vs 440)
Doesn't stick to farming. Adds many decorative blocks like new woods
Adds its many duplicate blocks to both MTG and Mineclone: another cactus with own textures. Mineclone and MTG already have one, so I don't see the point. X Farming cotton is also a duplicate in MTG
X Farming Cotton crafts into pillows wich are basically a wool duplicate in MTG and Mineclone
Nevertheless X Farming has some interesting mechanics some players may enjoy or prefer but I have to give a thumbs down for the reasons above.
In my opinion, the principle of being surrounded only by stone is a very good idea because you can decide from the ground up which system you will use to build, structure and design bases and structures.
Problems with decorations and structures:
When I looked at the world with noclip, I noticed that decorations like grass and dead bushes were not replaced with stone. Larger decorations (structures) such as ruined portals were also noticeably inappropriate and unesthetic in the stone
Improvement ideas
You could potentially replace not only air and water with stone, but also grass; dirt; dirt with grass, dead bushes; Etc..
Another idea of mine would be to completely overwrite the world generation again. For this I highly recommend the library mod luamap.
I have included most of this textures in my game (Minefall) mainly in order to make it look different than the former default game. My thanks to the author for this good work.
The issue with texture packs is that they often don't cover some obscure mod you use, and the more "opinionated" it is, the more those blocks stand out (I'd love to use the Soothing one, but can't for this reason). A texture pack like Defaultpack Remastered just changes some of the default textures a little, yet it is enough to be noticeable and to "refresh" the game.
There are however a couple of choices I don't like in this pack, so I made some edits (mainly keep the default ones), but YMMV.
This is the BEST minetest game! You can build if you want, but you can also survive. And play with tech too! I hope you'll install it and hundreds of mods with it! 😃
Very good game and enjoy !
Makes the water interesting. Really well done creatures as usual by Liil. They fit well into Minetest. For me this is a must have mod, and I'm surprised that it didn't get more recognition from the Minetest community.
using playtimes mod on my mineclonia server for 2 days. I've already collected 7 hours -yay---
Starting difficulties were fixed by the author within a few hours.
It'd be great if interacting with traders didn't add permanent HUD elements
Basically the title. the game is great, but once you interact with a trader, enjoy having "TRADER LENNY" or "TRADER TOM" on your screen permanently from that moment onwards.
The logs craft into islands:wood instead of default:wood despite depending on default. islands:wood looks exactly like default:wood but by being a different node you won't be able to craft things from mods. In my opinion it should either look like an own type of wood or be aliased to regular wood in an update.
This wrench allows you to pick up nodes with their contents and they end up in your inventory.
Very similar to I Have Hands except that you use a wrench and get the items in your inventory.
Note that you can't uninstall it midgame as the item data vanishes from the items if you do. (comes back if you reenable it though)
If you put different blocks in xdecor:workbench, you'll see that it adds up to 12 variants of MANY blocks. (example: stairs:slab_cactus)
Chair has the same broken code as the one from ts_furniture. With up to date MTG the first person camera is in the base of the chair, not at eyeheight.
Could become the best skyblock experience to be had on minetest.
But only if paired with Voxelgarden (which Unter Null was originally designed for), because VG provides a lot of the bootstrap mechanics a skyblock needs by default. The limited MTG support in this release is not very good(1) and has been removed from the current git version (that also changes lava cooling to be depth based which adds better progress).
So what does this mod add to the base game when used with Voxelgarden:
a world consisting of a single large ocean
a chest with some stones, some papyrus roots, a bit of dirt, and some saplings
the recipe for a (not very polished) grinding machine
lava cooling changed to sometimes give random ore nodes from flowing lava
recipes to create lava
Coupled with various gameplay mechanics of Voxelgarden this is (actually more than) enough to bootstrap one's own world from nearly nothing. If - like me - one doesn't know Voxelgarden yet, it also adds the fun of discovering the various neat mechanics that Voxelgarden provides for this process and the ways it differs from MTG (dirt is a falling node!!! but no need to restart, it is easy to get more dirt).
Also it is great that falling off is not fatal like in a typical skyblock.
Currently there are downsides:
Voxelgarden doesn't have any middle to late game content (like MTG), so one will need e.g. automation mods to keep having fun after the initial buildup; note that not all MTG mods are compatible with Voxelgarden
the lava cooling is a bit too easy in the released version, checking out the depth based lava cooling from git is recommended (even though building under water is a bit grindy in Voxelgarden)
there is a lot of polish missing, e.g. the generation of the inital chest may fail, and the UI of the grinder is primitive without any support for shift clicking
(1) the MTG support adds the papyrus roots to be used as a building and plant base in the ocean, but a lot of nodes are not creatable, e.g. most plants
From game mechanics to mob design to structures to items, this is basically one of my favorite modpacks for minetest--ever. The NPCs are also actually dangerous--like, they'll chase you, shoot you, sneak up, teleport, and in general just pose a really big threat that makes the game more challenging. (They're actually smart) There could be more structures, though--a deep dark would be sweet...
I love the nether mod as it adds a new level of gameplay. Combine this with Wilhelmines Living Nether and it becomes as wonderful as the overworld.
The only thing I don't like about it, is that it is too strict on the dimensions. Having a minimum of 4 wide by 5 tall is ok, but I want to make different sizes larger than the default, think stargate sized. I think as long as you have the minimum mesurements it should be able to have a working portal of varying sizes for your build.
There is an portal.api but it is way too complicated and you have to mess with the coding. This, in my opinion, is a terrible design, especially if you know nothing about coding. I have borked the mod several times trying to get a nether portal to fit in my build several times.
No mod should have to rely on the player to alter code. That can do a lot of damage to the mod and/or game if they don't know what they're doing. People like me.
I havent seen him yet but a door opened in front of me, i heard footsteps nearby and a spooky sound in a cave entrance.
I suggest adding as a feature the chance of herobrine breaking torches you've placed like in the minecraft mod.
After a few days he appeared when a loud sound played, since then he began appearing and each time loud ambiance would play. If you are somebody playing the mod i recommend disabling the ambience part of it or replacing the sound files with something more subtle and less loud like i ended up doing (theseones). I considered disabling it but sometimes you need to know where he is to not run into him and get too close. He appears very often, at least twice a day and once a night, from a distance no bigger than 40 blocks, (maybe its tied to render distance, i dont know) and sometimes he will pop up right in front of your line of sight. He stays in place for a while, waching you and after a while he vanishes. Dont get too close to it
How to change the mapgen y max/min?
I want my nether to be from -28,000 to -31,000, but I don't know how to do that. How do I do that?
Best mod
My brother and I love it! We've seen several videos from minecraft with mods like this, but now minetest has it... it's great👍😁👍
Just wanted to say
that more specifically I'm pretty sure it's the PA-18 (just fun fact)
Anyways this is a great mod I love it
Good quality mod
Feels good, performs good, and looks good

hommie saved me some time
I was planning on making a 3D gun pack for Minetest, but bro already got me covered. It's amazing, probaly better than what mine would've been!
AMAZING!!! Just one tiny bug though.
It says on the description that the crate is portable yet I can't figure out how to move it. please help me. Otherwise this mod is on my top 5.
Cool mod, but memory leak nuke bound

Unique
I think it's the only mod that offers timber framing.
made me fear sometimes, but can be more immersive if add sounds
this game is such a cool experience, but you will not found a objective on it. i recommend to play a sound background to giv you more cagaço.
