How do you change ore drop rates with gravel sieve (for non-coders)

  I was wondering how to change the rate of ores for the gravel sieve. I have been running it for 3 irl days and have only got 2 different ores. I only get chromium and tin. Nothing else has dropped. Even with More_ ores and Technic the rarities are better than the gravel sieve.

  I an a non-coder so an eli5 explanation is needed.

  You have to configure it in the file "minetest.conf". The location of "minetest.conf" is operating system and installation dependent.

  • finish/exit Minetest
  • search the file "minetest.conf"
  • open this file with a text editor (Windows Notepad or something similar)
  • add the line gravelsieve_ore_rarity = 0.6 at the end of the file (this will double the output)
  • store the file
  • restart Minetest again

  to quadruple the rate change the value to: 0.3

  I tried your instructions and after sieving through 2000 gravel I only got 2 iron ore lumps. When I actually mine for about 5 irl minutes I get around 300-400 iron ore lumps since iron ore is very prolific in my world. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Please advise.

  [edit 2] Never mind. I just uninstalled and reinstalled and now it works as normal again.

  It's back to barely any ore drops at all. I put around 25,000 gravel into an auto gravel sieve (with hoppers and a chest) and after that I only got 2 mese crystals and 1 tin ore. This is with the drop setting at 0.3. There is definitely something wrong with the drop settings with the grave sieve. It used to drop about the same rate as I could get mining but now it is so rare to get anything that it's useless as intended or advertised.

  Should I just remove the gravel sieve entirely?

  Check the file "debug.txt". You should find something like that:

  That means mese should be dropped every 218 times (statistically)
