This mod provides the most features so far in an airplane mod. The altimeter and compass are very helpful additions especially, really help with long flights. Learning to fly this plane is quite hard, so it is best to start with one of APercy's other amazing airplane mods, but once you learn the basic features you can start doing some cool things with this one.
Something that would help in piloting though is a keybind for starting the engine and some other things in the formspec, so you don't have to right-click every time.
This mod is great. This is the first mod that I know of that let you walk around a moving ship. You can even climb the ladder. The engine and controls are also quite immersive, though the water requirement was somewhat confusing.
The latest of the masterful vehicles created by APercy. This is so far the pinnacle of boats. It's just so immersive to take its helm and drive around Minetest's seas and rivers! This is still WIP, so I expected some bugs, but there aren't really any in there that I have found at the moment. The only trouble I have had for now is slowing down enough to drop the anchor, it seems to want me to stop almost completely, even if I am barely crawling along it won't let me drop it. The only thing we are missing now for proper harbours is buoys, like in the screenshot.
Overall, very good mod, I definetely recommend it.
I have been playing this game for a long time, and it is definetely my favourite Minetest game. This game is actually challenging, and finally figuring out how to do something is extremely rewarding. Exile also features some very smart design choices: for example, sticks here are not just an item used in crafts that clogs up your inventory like in MTG - they are also an important traversal tool that you might want to have on you most of the time. I could provide many more examples of such decision.
That said, it is not perfect - some mechanics could use to be more clear, and there is not much to do after you have acquired everything - the game stops feeling like a challenge. Performance is also not that great on weaker computers due to all the dynamic nature. However, this game is in active development, and many things probably will improve.
Overall, this is an extremely good game, among the best in Minetest.
This is the most expansive yet straightforward technology mod for Minetest. Its best feature is that is adds actual progression to MTG, other than the obvious stone-steel-mese/diamond upgrade chain it already has. From the very beginning, you will need a charcoal mound and a smelting tower to start with advanced metalworking, which adds a nice mechanic to the beginning. Then you will build a steam engine, which is when the real game begins. You can start automating almost anything now, from ores to farming. Oil is also such a genious addition: wells are often far from where you have built your base, so you don't need to just find one, but also create a system to transport the oil to wherever you factories will be. Overall, this is one of the best mods for Minetest.
To a modern onlooker the plane, like many from its time period, looks awkward: wings and rigging like on a sailship, and are those bicycle wheels? However, this mod captures the amazing ingenuity of early planes like this. Learning how to pilot it is also incredibly fun: at first you will crash into the ground like a rock to land, then you will learn to control the power, and then finally landing feels so satisfying. It is also a nice introduction to the other plane mods, since it features similar mechanics, but is easier to pilot.
Nodecore provides a few light sources by default, sure, but they are not that useful: torches burn out quickly, and optics systems are hard to set up and are not that extendable. The lanterns in this mod provide reliable on-the-go lighting without being overpowered, since they require quite a bit of materials to make and fuel to operate. That said, they do make underground mining easier, so if that's a part of nodecore you wish to preserve that way don't use this mod. Also, hints should be added through the Nodecore's hint system for how to make the lanterns.
The best part of this mod is the art and models. They fit the voxel aesthetic of Minetest Game very well, much better than the Mobs Animal ones. The mobs also generally have good behaiviours, and are fun to play with. The spawning definitly needs improvement, though. On default settings, mobs are too rare, and searching the whole world just for some chickens is not fun. The net is in my opinion too overpowered, maybe should just work on smaller mobs like chickens and cats.
