This mod is very good, it makes the minetest game richer and without deviating from the standard, and adds a lot of features... For those looking for a biome mod that will make your world more interesting, and without exaggerating, I recommend this mod.. I really liked it, it's already on my list of favorite mods, thank you very much :)
This mod is a no-brainer to any dedicated builder, server admin or anyone really. It allows you to set large areas of nodes in bulk, move areas around, quickly build shapes, randomly mix nodes, fix lighting, run arbitrary Lua code on each node in a selection, and so much more.
It is assumedly inspired by the Minecraft plugin of the same name, and is quite familiar if you're used to the Minecraft WorldEdit plugin.
I love this mod but its lacking in herbivorus dinosaurs to complete my parks so here are my sugestions for the mods future:
Therizinosaurus,
edmontosaurus(regalis),
struthiomimus,
angkylosaurus,
parasauralophus,
igaunodon,
magyrosaurus,
and new blocks:
guest spawner: spawns ai that follow paths and look at dinosaurs
path selecter: select what block counts as path
This game is what those who play minetest game with disappointment actually want. it has a focus on exploring tons of unique areas throughout the world, most of which come with unique challenges in the form of mobs, hostile environments, and some unique dangers thrown in. It has a nice balance between stat watching for survival and leaving time to explore. if someone wants a good minetestgame-based game to host on a server, this should be their go-to.
This mod conflicts with the "lava stuff" mod. When I have "mob monsters" enabled, the lava orb recipe disappears. And when it's off - the crafting recipe is in place
noted why but need collaboration - use gitlab or codeberg
Having problems with recipes for crafting of items
The mod itself is amazing. But there are also big drawbacks.
For example, there are no recipes for crafting a few items, although older releases used to have them - grandfather clock, rope lighting, table lamp, stading lamp, cutlery set, cup of beer, hueg box, dvd_player and wardrobe.
Also, in the new releases of this mod, for some reason, there is no gold coin with which you can get coca cola from a soda machine.
There was also an issue with not being able to sleep in the new beds, but that's been fixed and I'm glad about that.
VanessaE, if you're reading this, please add the crafting recipes for all the items I've listed. Thanks in advance! (;
Best way I know to create schematics for your own mods
This mod makes it possible to save and load areas in a Minetest world as schematic files.
With it players can build structures in Minetest and save the result to a file in their world folder.
The mod is easy to understand and does not depend on any game – not even minetest_game.
In my opinion that makes it an excellent choice to create schematics, even for beginner mod developers.
There even exist special nodes for common use cases – for example, when air should not be placed in a schematic.
Saving a schematic:
You place a schemedit node at a corner of the area that you wish to save as a schematic.
You click the node, then specify the area size and filename in a form. The area bounds can be clearly visible.
You click a button to save the area as a schematic. It will be saved in the folder schems, which is located in the folder of the world you created it in.
Loading a schematic:
You put the schematic that you want to load in the folder schems, which should be located in the folder of the world you want it to be in. (Create it if it does not exist.)
You place a schemeedit node at a corner of the the area where you wish to load a schematic.
You click the node, then specify the filename in a form.
Most high-res texture packs for block games I've seen work by grabbing random slightly related photorealistic textures and slapping them onto blocky voxels, which always give a bit of jank along with ruining the look and feel. This texture pack manages to not do this, by carefully making the new textures be as faithful to the original. They're still high-res and photorealistic, but they do not look or feel out of place. Sometimes, they look totally like the original texture, except upscaled and with a texture to it, as if you can reach in and touch the texture of the grass (heh), or feel the bark of the logs.
In addition, there's also hints of pixelation in e.g. the grass node side texture, leaves or the top log texture. Which just furthers the brilliant atmosphere of a high-res texture pack that is able to work with the fact it is still a voxel game, made out of cubes. It doesn't try to be anything more, and accomplishes very well because of that.
i like that i can land on water thereby preventing loss in the oceans, only thing is that when you display HUD gauges it doesn't display the fuel or power gauges. i might try to find a way to get them to work myself but really thats all that's lacking.
Of course, I consider this mod one of the priorities in the Minetest game. But this mod also has nuances that have been tormenting all this time.
1: I always see mobs like sheep and panda with too dark texture. Instead of white, it turns out to be dirty gray in panda and sheep. And it's not very pretty. In general, this needs to be finalized, and it would not hurt to change the textures of the sheep and chickens.
2: For some reason, they always spawn one mob at a time on land. For example, why not two or three sheeps, but only one.
And my last suggestion to the developer:
Here is an example, when you hit a mob, it flashes white. For beauty, I suggest making it red, like in the mod "cme_master"
a way to get the nodes this mod adds in survival is needed (after all i am not going to set up a server shop for every node in this modpack ) but otherwhise this is a great mod)
I think the only thing that I'd like to see added to the code is if you could do "/protect_here" and it would protect the area around you, as if you were the center most point, to the maximum allowed size.
From the multicolour vomit dirt texture to the bright coarse noisy stone textures and oddly photorealistic badly tileable wood texture, this texture pack has it all. The tree trunks and leaves look vivid and delicious, and the cobblestone texture looks rigid and stable. There is some amount of charm in the old classic Minetest textures, even though I personally do not have nostalgia for old Minetest versions as I did not play them back in the day.
In addition the newer textures for features that did not exist back in the day are recreated in the similar classic artstyle, making it look like they existed back in the day (I especially like the snowy forest biome, that wasn't a thing back then right?). It is an interesting experience to enable this texture pack and see your builds transform and travel back in time, like a time machine to the early days of Minetest contained inside modern day Minetest Game.
When first looking at this mod I expected it to be an API mod. Server owners can make their own mod for a server which registers QR nodes and the mod will dynamically generate the QR code texture from an inputted text string, an interesting concept that some server owners may see use out of. Unfortunately that is not the case.
Instead what this mod provides is just one single node. And you will have to, yourself, change the texture of this node to the QR code of your choice. Any server owner could just do this themselves with a dirt simple mod registering a node if they are going to have to generate and add the QR code texture anyways. In addition, the QR node is both breakable and craftable by players so while you might want to only have it in the spawn, your players will now have the ability to craft and use it too.
Great game.. works in the phone.. of course not with the 5.X crap
I already backpor and made some improvement and work in 0.4 an 5.0 the game has only one thing to fix, the book of libraries are not active by default.. the game its now in WIP and its working
Have you ever went out to explore a cave and returned with your back packs full of several different minerals? This is the mod for you: place a hopper on top of a furnace, and another on the side. This will allow you to place coal on the side one and the raw minerals at the top and they will be filled very quick. Add another hopper at the bottom of the furnace to a chest and the cooked items will be stored.
What server owners should do is, to create a worldmod and register nodes themself. Using that method, the server owner is able to create unlimited amount of QR code nodes, as well as billboards, etc.
Is it possible to add an optional config option for Admins to set a Timer, in which Players cant move, otherwise they wont be teleported? I would use this mod, but I dont want players to teleport away while pvping!
I've been aware of Minetest for many years, but only just recently started playing. This was the game of choice for a small five-person server and we've had a blast. Even though it's a big pile of mods, and some of them we don't like, it's a great introductory experience for us to see what's out there.
We've played for several hours and have resorted to installing two other mods: anvil and travelnet. We all hate weapon degradation and found anvil to be a good compromise. We also hated how it took many minutes to go down ladders to Minetest's 4096 resource-dense level.
Eventually we'll probably adapt our world with other mods but this has been a great way to just play. Thanks to the maintainer(s)!
Simple, straightforward, and speedy. Would be nice to be able to see out of the sides but perhaps it's to hide jankiness from the speed.
I'm not sure about the advertized 990 Km/h, though... It took me about 6 seconds to go 250 meters and 16 to go 400. I also would love configurable speeds. But overall really solid and with nice textures.
At first it feels like a whole new world but then it gets boring. No set goal, even with awards mod. Some features are good, but some are bad. I don't recommend to someone who wants more from minetest.
Also for a mod I want added is epic_combat (modpack on my github). It makes mobs more common and adds more swords and PVP material. I want because Hugues Ross say not enough mobs.
Was browsing games in Minetest's catalog and found one with some... familiar graphics. Yup, I made them! Well, some of them. XP
I found it rather odd the way muffins are used. Instead of healing, they add stat buffs that wear off after a few seconds. It caught me off guard at first, since there's no timer to tell you how long you have left, and it seems you have to die to make them respawn. But then I don't think this game intends to be a one-to-one remake of Mario or SuperTux in 3D; it's cleary its own thing. Though, if you'd like, I could make some custom item icons that would be less confusing. Get in touch with me and let me know what you need!
Gameplay-wise, the levels are good, but seem a bit advanced. I think you should make some short and simple ones first to get people accustomed to how stuff works. It'll also help prevent burnout when designing levels if you don't start out with all your advanced ideas first. If possible, find a way to make moving platforms move the player, too.
Not sure if this is doable, but one feature request would be if the third person camera could have the player avatar turning independant of the camera's angle. Think like how the 3D Marios or Breath of the Wild do. If it's not doable, don't sweat it, but platforming is way easier in third person.
Overall, though, this is an amazing start, and I can't wait to see where it goes! And again, feel free to get in touch with me for any graphical requests you have.
New but far from being the best, major limitation in backpacks, horrible skin changer, no option to basic crafte with a button, no crafte all the components that can be crafte with a button, also the page changer at the top is anti-aesthetic and annoying.-
I used to play with this texture pack exclusively
Its a really great pack and gives me the Minecraft feeling. Also has good textures on its own
I recently started to make my own pack with the textures from my own old Minecraft texture Pack (contains some minecraft textures so i cant upload) but if noone wants to make their own Textures or port them over, this is your best option!

A good monster mod
This mod makes the world more interesting and is a good addition.
There are no questions, if not for one problem

A new mod for beautiful biomes with new things that made me happy. If you want to make your world more diverse and fun, then this mod is for you (:
Not to bad mod of animals

For server administrators It's cool.
I can place it at the resurrection point and donate PayPal QR code
5x5 nodes might be better for cell phones to scan QR codes
Thank you :)
A Very good and practical Mod. Thank you!
Now I sleep with armor on
Nice selection of monsters to battle throughout the world, and the plant almost got me while wandering through a forest :P
It spawns bodies of water but not a lake
IMO, it spawns too many water blocks and in incorrect places.
A lake doesn't have water blocks above the ground flooding all around.
needs crafting recipes

The mod's exactly what I needed to test making a new biome
The "Programmer Art" texture pack of MTG

Useless (probably useful as a modding example?)
What server owners should do is, to create a worldmod and register nodes themself. Using that method, the server owner is able to create unlimited amount of QR code nodes, as well as billboards, etc.
Funny mod
It's an entertaining mod, great when you're peckish.
“Concrete"
The best alternative of Minecraft concrete blocks! For baked clays, their mono-colored style makes it the best material for modern-styled buildings.
Great mod!
